Sun up, turning the sky black to gray to dingy blue
but I've been up already for hours.
Or minutes.
Something. I'm ready
to face it -
This new day.
The dawn of an ordinary Wednesday,
the dawn of me, too.
Rising in the east
and crossing your heart with my heat
and longing
and desire

pure and honest.
Open to you, now
as in all things
all times
for ages and eons it's been this way.

Up on my elbow
looking down on the wonder of you
and the light plays with your face
and your hair falls beautifully against your cheek.

Full of faith that this,
today,
right now,
is going to be even somehow better
than the moment and the hour and the day just before it
my heart pounds
my hands warm
and I grow restless
waiting for you to wake
and take me into your arms.

Changes

The longing, excitement and anticipation of new found love, changing an ordinary day into something to be cherished and enjoyed. Thank you

Hugo

Beautiful...

Makes me think a bit of the Pogues song Tuesday Morning. :)

Nice...

Someone sounds very happy, and I feel priveleged to share in this moment of it...nice imagery, logo. This poem is, as the one line says, so 'pure and honest' that it sings from the page.

Very nice. I think this is a subject that is easy to turn into a hallmark card, but I don't recall ever reading 'and crossing your heart with my heat' in any hallmark card.
