My Lady Fair

I woke up this morning with my lovely lady at my side
A smile came over my face as I rode a passionate tide
A realization came upon me as I lay in a moment of thought
Nothing else matters, I have the love that I sought.

I woke up this morning with a purring in my ear
The source wasn’t a cat as the sound drew near
My love was cuddling me in the sweetest embrace
I basked in the glow as my lines she did trace

I woke up this morning, the face of an angel looking at me
I thought at that moment that heaven is where I must be
Her wings did envelope me in a cocoon of sweet desire
And I wished that nothing could ever extinguish this fire

I woke up this morning and she was there
Yes, she was there, my lady fair
