I dream of my true love and I
Feel my heart within my breast
Flutter as my inner eye
Does his handsome face descry.
Of all on Earth, he loves me best.

My maiden's blushes do attest
That to my dear one I would fly.
In his embrace, oh, let me rest,
My bosom pressed against his chest.
In his strong arms I wish to lie.

And if my darling now were nigh
He would my tender lips invest
With kisses sweet, and be my guest.
And through the night 'neath moonlit sky,
With all his love would I be blest.
