my mind wages a war of madness with itself
my thoughts are armies marching against each other
reason charges forth and is outflanked by insanity
intellect hides in brain like bones buried in silt
panic like swift fish slither through seas of my thought
and gibberish echoes wisdom pounding in my ears
words fall like curtains inside my drooping eye lids
and terror grips my jaw and grabs my straining throat
you my cruel sweet executioner turn the crank
which controls the rack on which my senses stretch and die
allied against me with my own sick soul you stab
me with your weapon of indifference to love
the harsh pain of your hatred bleeds my tortured rhymes
which rush like vermin release from my cage of mind
thoughts like corpses strew my brain's bloody battlefield
reason, dementia wage war, first one to die wins.
