My Pain is my nightmare
Tall and dark hidden pain deep inside my soul
Visible to my heart that beats one less beat each day
My soul that sees no light through the hurt and the pain
That creeps slowly out beneath the surface of my spirit to control my breath and my life
His words ring loud in my head from the first beautiful hello to the last
Warm, wet drop of water trail the stains on my face from tears shed before from his words
As the new tears run deeper creating new stains of pain
Creating new paths for hurt and darkness to imbed in my soul and engrave to heart
The moments shared that can’t be taken back
The words that meant so much but now so little that can’t be unsaid
My nightmare that I can’t wake up from even with my eyes open
