My Vampyre

In the night I try
to find her smell on the air
That peculiar scent
she wears in her hair

Her voice is like diamonds
the sound that they make
when suspended and moving
and together they rake

The feel of her body
beneath my hands
is like remembering a dream
or clutching find sand

onto the feeling
the more my hands ache

I can't seem to breathe now
when she's not around
the air just lacks something
I find profound

The stars shine brighter
when she's within sight
The moon seems to smile
When we're together at night

Nocturnal creature
who's ensnared my soul
