Naked somehow
not only undressed,
also bared
of barriers.

But for hearts
bellowing,

two stand
silent.

Waiting
for the other
to respond
beyond reaction.

No resistance
through distance,
but savouring
synchronised intent
and bloodrush beats.

Confident
that time for once
is on their side,
space theirs alone
to occupy.

One step.
Two.

Air bows,
and moves aside
to make way.

Embracing behind,
gently enclosing,
as worlds meet
tentatively eager.

Merge
by arms around,
by skin electric,
lips alight,
only barely
separate minds.

Escaped from ill,
foul of fright,
a first right
frozen in time,
echoing still,

and the universe
shifts,
in fraction
of notion
this night.

Hearts still beat,
somehow.

Great work

Loved it, particularly the last line that conveys the sense of wonder so perfectly.

Lovely

Your words made me think of someone I have wanted for a long time and there has never been enough time. Your words made me smile and my heart ache, but in a wonderful way. Your poem was quite lovely.

Beautifully sparse

This poem gives the reader the barest sketch and allows a vivid picture to appear. Well worth more than 5.

Naked, Alive

Usually intermittent rhyming doesn't work and trips up the word flow.

Here you have managed to avoid the tongue stumbles with an added soupcon of alliteration.

I enjoy your tense writing but would prefer more than just a mere taste.
