The beautiful hazel eyes framed by white blonde curls
The chubby cheeks with the dimple showing when he smiles
The giggles and laughs when he thinks something is funny
How surprising it is that our memory fades so quickly
How amazing that the pain and sorrow of illness can be forgotten with a baby’s first smile
How interesting that for there to be complete and utter joy at a new life
That new life must have been near death
