A thought
A dream
You rip at the seam
To unravel my mask...
How do you do this to me?
My lies,
Your eyes,
How can I make you real?
So helpless,
Alone.
Can I give you a home?
Here in my world,
Is it only fiction
That you could be free?
Your smiles
Shatter me.
Your distance
Terrifies me.
Why can't I put you
Out of my mind?
You're slipping away,
Try as I might
I've lost sight of you
Can you find your way back?
Can I love you enough
To light the path?
I want to hold you,
Bring you back and anchor you
Here.
I know I can do it
If I try hard enough.
A kiss laced with lithium,
And I'll plunge into the darkness
With you
If I cannot pull you out.

AlexisDarlingabout 17 years agoThat poem hits close to home. I feel I "unveiled" a friend yesterday. Not out of anger or being a know it all, but just in hopes of us being closer because I love him so.
