It’s that time of year,
When we return to our schools,
Teams to cheer,
And more rules.

But this year is a first,
One with a twist,
My child’s ready to burst,
And now all I can do is assist.

You see kindergarten is upon us,
Nothing can change that now,
That first day a car not a silly bus,
I’ll get through it somehow.

Not sure what to say or just what to do,
An end to her daycare and something quite new,
She exited, ready and raring to go,
How I’ll deal with it I just don’t know.

There will be tears,
Cries of joy,
Gone are the innocent years,
Now I’m preparing for the boys.
