New Zealand is a wonderland,
A playground full of treats.
Her scenery spectacular,
Her people cannot be beat.
We traveled southeast from Brisbane to a land we have come to know.
By bus, we traveled north and south,
Constantly on the go.
We saw mountains rise above us,
Weeping streams of icy tears which became their blue-green rivers,
Hydropower to last for years.
We saw fields with yellow flowers, and
Patchwork hills of fawn and brown.
We saw coastal towns and city streets and sounds, which we sailed down.
We saw sheep graze by their millions,
Deer and cattle too,
We saw native birds while walking bush
Climbed the odd escarpment too.
We saw caves lit up by nature,
Volcanic mountains now extinct,
We saw Maori art and tribal dance;
Learnt how they all were linked.
Now we travel home elated by the trip and sights we have seen,
New Zealand is an awesome place.
It like somewhere in a dream

Right On

I spent a year in New Zealand a long time ago--much too short a time.

This poem mirrors my feelings exactly especially as regards the friendly people.

Nobody.....

......who's familiar with New Zealand will argue with this. You obviously loved it too. Thanks for sharing this.
