Darkness cannot hurt you
It cannot enfold you in its cloaked arms,
It cannot pull you screaming into its jaws.
Light shines when you smile,
like a beacon it beats back the night.
As bright as the sun you shine,
your words like candles
inspiring and thoughtful.
You cannot be dragged down,
pulled away into blackness.
I will pull you back,
We will pull you back.
We are illuminations in a darkened world
Our light cannot be extinguised.
We glow like a proud city at night.
Our souls shine through story and rhyme.
We are writers.
We are night-lighters.
We are illumination in a darkened world.
