Come lay beside me,
Feel my hands trembling
With hesitant touches.
Feel my pulse beating
In awe…and in fear.

Make sweet music with me
As our souls intertwine.
Whispers and sighs become
Murmurs of dreamed songs
By flickering candles.

Lay down beside me
And cast aside worries
No one may harm you
While here I embrace you.
Sleep and content thee.

When the morn wakes you
With soft dawn’s caresses
I shall still be there
Watching and waiting
For your eyes to half open.

Then stay there beside me
Through all of life’s journeys
Battles and troubles
Pleasures and laughter
Never departing.
