No other way to look at her eyes,
Except straight on.
No other way to hide my feelings,
Except with lies.
No other way to cross into day,
Except by crossing night.
And she stood there,
Stood there with wide careful eyes,
With hope and desire.
Stood there without understanding,
With a steadfast heart.
Stood there waiting for me,
With unbroken dreams.
And wide open arms,
