Let the waitress think what she will.
It's quiet in here tonight.
We'll sit side by side in the booth.
I don't want to play footsy.
I don't want to look into your gorgeous eyes.

I want to touch you.
Here.
Now.

I want to feel your thigh pressed up against mine.
I want to slide my fingertips over the fine hair of your arm.

When you turn your head to look around
to see if anyone is watching,
I shall lean in and exhale one breath upon your neck,
and days of endless yearning will flow forth
and float across your skin.

In that moment you'll be lost.

I'll watch as the blood runs heedlessly throughout your body.
Your eyes will shut and your lips will part
and you'll let escape a sigh of your own.
You'll lean back ever so slightly
and in that moment...

Oh, give me that moment.
One second of forever
and let me hold you there
as the energy of passion radiates
past the booth
past the walls
past the clouds and sun and stars.

Yet, all too soon
you shall swallow down your passion,
look over at me and smile.
And I will left chasing.
Chasing
an echo's sigh,
a reflection's touch,
a shadow's kiss,
across the eternal sky.
