it’s not like the romance novels

how your voice makes me want you
how you take my hand and show your desire
how the silence is heavy with promise

featherlight touch of lips on lips
fingers tracing the shape of you
finding heat, hard and pulsing

smiles when my tongue travels down you
smells of our arousal enveloping us
sighs as our bodies join, key to lock

how you whisper my name when you fill me
how your moans wrench my heart
how you wait, watching, while I come

it’s not like the romance novels
it’s infinitely, deliciously, better.
