our lips meet up
in your garage but
you speak in language
that I can’t hear
you listen for my voice
but I’m not missing
It’s just not there

sitting on the hood
of your old car
in winter
I stare at trees
until they dissolve
and no distinction remains
between tree and night

as we fuck
in my messy bed
my poems liquefy
and run down my leg
you seek my vision
but it’s not missing
I’m just not there
