Billy knows about space,
all there is to say
at five years old
about that place.

"It's big like...nothing.
And empty and weird
and full of gas.
Like Daddy on weekends."

Billy scratches his nose.

(This has nothing to do
with space --
he just does.)

Then remembers.

"And there are planets.
Daddy hasn't got those."

Yes, Billy knows.

perkspective

that last line is so poignant, for me it talks all about everything the kid doesn't think that his daddy has, the "planets" or the whole world, but daddy knows his world is the boy. Simply brilliant.

I absolutely loved this.
