keen, brilliant minds rejoice
   and watch their screens -

it's no mean feat:
   prestigious penetration
breathless blaze of rocket fuel and glory,
   a sudden, brutely forced
   ejaculation -

erratic excellence
   crammed full of gauges
   dials, LCDs
   but somehow out of focus,
   out of place -

keen, brilliant minds rejoice
   and watch their screens -

I look outside.
   against the drifting clouds
grey sea is streaked with silver
   and the effortless slow beat
   of seagulls' wings.
