You can’t stop me from falling
She cried
Perched on the edge of the precipice
Arms opened wide
As if about to fly
And he laughed
As he stepped back
Nodding his head in agreement
He couldn’t stop her
Not this time
Then she was gone
Airborne
With the grace of a butterfly
Floating on the tide
Of change
He laughed again
Stepping forward
Tugging on her chain
Pulling her back with a sigh
“Not this time.”
