Also known as Tell
Put an apple on her head
Moments later, she was dead
Later crossed the border
Drank some Yagé - never better
Conversed with Allen
Sent some letters
Now a writer
Moved to Tangiers, all despite her
Picked up Hubbard
All the while writer writing
Then found out
L.Ron devout
How words could make
And could control
Later dropped that evil soul
A writer writes all he knows
Many words from wounded pen
The needle knows how Billy goes
But later still he quit the act
William Tell no longer lacked
Dead as all men go

Lives as each virus does

PoetGuyabout 13 years agoEven (dare Poet Guy say it?) viral. Poet Guy was aware of the Scientology connection to Burroughs, so he learned something from this as well.
Maria2394about 13 years agoto the other poets et al, this poem reminds me of some lyrics by the Butthole surfers, "Pepper" to be exact. I found it oddly entertaining. enjoyed :O)
bogusagainabout 13 years agoGot to be about the beats, I assume. Borroughs shot his wife when pissed after he had her put a glass on her head and then fled to Angiers. Yage and Allen Ginsberg down in Mexico.
I have to admit I spent more time trying to guess the references than the poem, that might be my problem not the poem's.
