I bury my face in a striped blue robe
underarms, I’ll take anything, but
your scent has faded along with us
scouring the house for crumbs of our
existence, I crawl after chocolate
and carelessly tossed pennies
yes, yes, there…it was real, maybe
I am not van Gogh’s skull of a skeleton
sucking on smoke with nowhere to go
