Oddly In Love
By D. Alan Dunne

I heard a song on the radio today.
Just a sad ballad 'bout a girl who wouldn't stay.

I cried a tear and for him felt bad,
'cause to lose in love is always so sad.

Then I thought of you and on how sweet you are,
and on how wonderful you have been so far.

I too was sad once and needed a friend,
someone to help my heart to mend.

When you found me seems like months ago,
I fell in love and wouldn't let go.

In the eyes of the world we are somewhat odd,
Yet a love like ours can never be flawed.

I pushing 60 and you just nineteen,
Normally most folks would think that obscene.

But I say who cares 'cause age doesn't matter,
As long as our hearts go pitter patter.

I bring you wisdom of sex and romance,
Your youth and beauty make my heart dance.

Together sweet music our bodies will make.
We'll soar like eagles make no mistake.

Perhaps someday a singer will happily croon,
In some dark café or roadside saloon.

A song of two lovers destined to be,
oddly in love like you and me.
