Is not your waiting home somewhere
West of here, closer to
the setting sun? In the land
of mango, cayenne, Yucatan?
si le no pierden
Orange and black are welcome
upon my blossoming dahlia
though out of place
as the cacti in my window sill.
¿ por qué está usted aquí ?
I wish there were more room upon
your fragile, fluttering wings.
An orange seat adequate enough
for the pale and settled likes of me.
for Him
You don't have to understand foreign languages (it helps) to grasp the yearning to reach to all that is beyond -maybe all the exotic and the mysterious as could be imagined through the vision of these natural flying wonders.

Interestingly, I found the yearning to all that is un attained and wished upon a flying creature of nature reminiscent to most famous poem I learned as child in school. This is a poem written by Hayyim Nahman BIALIK who used to be considered in Israel the national poet (yes, they used these kind of terms back in the 60’s). In it, similar yearnings are expressed to idyllic place over the seas while ‘conversing’ with a migrating bird.

I wonder if there are any other readers who can recognize other poems/poets who used this motive of yearning to the idyllic and the beyond while using a bird a butterfly to address this wish.

Thanks for a very touching poem(as usual).
