To all those poets waiting for a reason
remember this: nothing you write in a million
years will be the same as any other writing.
What you do is uniquely you and is as valid
as anyone else's expression. So it may not be
prose smells a bit like poetry but when it is
honest a real revelation write it sing it scream it.
Until someone listens long learns your language.
And for those of you who cannot bear to hear
someone's real voice then perhaps 'tis your
problem, as is said, in a nutshell.

To all those poets waiting for a reason

remember this: nothing you write in a million

years will be the same as any other writing.

does it deserve to be said? or said badly?

and perhaps a little time off the soapbox and in the trenches of comments

in a nutshell

My goal for writing is to get as close to my own personal honesty as possible. My writing has shifted from erotica to this hybrid. The hybrid, I feel, is representative of who I am; the way I write and what I write is the language I have finally built. I'd like to think all writing, to some degree, reflects this. I think most writers feel the same. I don't usually fancy a particular form because I don't believe the package matters much. I don't use punctuation much either because what I'm writing feels urgent most times and who am I to tell anyone where they should pause? I'm not particularly down about Anonymous' comment, I guess I'm more disappointed that the message was delivered incognito and instead of a tone of constructive criticism, it contained an aggression that could, given the right target, deter people from writing what they feel.

hmmmm

I can only assume that someone here got some unsolicited anon FB as is usually the case when a poem like this appears. I think that everyone here has probably written some bad poetry at sometime in their writing career. I know I have. Ask yourself, does this type of poem make me a better poet? Could my time on this have been better spent on something actually meaningful? Probably....the thing about poetry is, the poet should eventually grow and mature, not continue to produce the same old thing over and over. I got stuck in that rut a while back, hence my writing absence from here for so long. I didn't think much of this example of y our writing, I think you could do better. Chin up, keep on writing :)

A good read and as Trix pointed out, a quotable line created, it could be TBPS motto
