Smoker Steve brings the cigarette up to his mouth with shaky hands.
Friday is payday.
He stands outside the store in the weather as he tries to bring himself closer to reality.
Is this love?
The longing has reduced him to tears -
Dependency, consecration, lust...
How he must ail to prove his commitment towards this unyielding lover.
Shrugging, he exhales, the release griping him like the virgins's ferment
And he walks home.
It will always be worth it, always worth the inner decay -
Delectation rewards his long fought suffering.
