Once upon a time, I had all my sanity
Then it was gone, I relied on humanity
Once I was a child, I was about this tall
Look at it now, it all seems so small
I was filled with hope, innocence and dreams
Now it's all gone, or that's how it seemed
Till I met you, you sent me to cloud nine
I was all yours, and you were all mine
Since I met you, I've regained my sanity
Now I don't have to rely on humanity

I could love you in the sun
I could love you in the rain
But I know as long as you love me
There'll be no more pain

I need to feel my arms around you
I couldn't be myself without you
But I know, yes I know
That I'm me, because I love you
You made the winter nights seem so warm
We sat on your couch, kissed during the storm
I had it all, I was perfectly content
For the first time, I knew what love meant

I could love you in the sun
I could love you in the rain
But I know as long as you love me
There'll be no more pain

You were it all, you made my world shine
Then you let go, and I fell from cloud nine
I hit with a thud, my body was weak
That's when my entire world became bleak
The days were just chores to get out of the way
During the night I dreaded the day
I knew that you were no longer mine
Never again would my world shine

I could have loved you in the sun
I could have loved you in the rain
But now that you've let me go
There's nothing but pain
