In those old photos, they dance and pose
Adopting adult postures, dress and makeup
But still youthful, being teenagers
Raging at the Blue Light Disco
Distinguishing themselves at the debutante ball
Whilst I was washing dishes and clothes
Cleaning house and wishing I wasn’t always alone
I got married while they passed exams
And when they were playing and partying
I was trying to master the art of the polite divorce
And somewhere here I had a choice
But I don’t remember choosing.
