What I wouldn't give

To have just one more day

One more moment with you

One last chance before you go away

Just a fleeting second

Of your precious, all too short time

One last chance to hug you close

One more opportunity into your lap to climb

One day you were here

The next you were gone

I was promised forever

But that was stripped from me one dawn

Now I wander through this life

Alone and heartbroken

The only words from my heart

The ones that were left unspoken

My family, my life, my dreams were torn apart

All of it just tossed aside

I'm collateral damage now

Just along for this turbulent ride

I awake and briefly forget

I am alone, death's prey

Then it hits me again and I cry for you

I just need one more day
