ONE SMALL ANGEL

A glimmer, a breath, a heartbeat in time.

Enough though , to allow a miracle to shine.

A tiny being who managed to touch each of our hearts.

One small angel, sent from above.

Did she know that she brought us together,

Forgetting our differences for a time?

A group of voices all praying, heard as one;

Did she watch from afar as we cried?

She had carried with her a gift from beyond,

          A message to all from above;

Make the most of your life, the most of your time,

Sooth the hearts of those that need love.

One small angel came to us, sharing her song ,

Never forget the moment that we acted as one.

Now stop for a moment, close your eyes and be still;

You might hear her sweet whisper, you might feel her still.

I ~

don't have the words. . .

Just, a thank you, from my heart.

She did more ...

... in a few short days than most people do in decades. Well captured. ~ Imp

Stirred some tears with this. Very nicely written, and heart-felt. I'm not fond of what they sometimes call the "didactic" tone in poems, but it wasn't overdone at all, and besides, it was honest and true. The last two lines were extremely beautiful to me. And a lovely tribute.

Words

of compassion are never said better than with a poem. Thanks for sharing.
