A place of solace
For my rattled mind
Only in a poem
I find slivers
Of my long lost
Broken heart
A shuffling hand
Of an aimless archeologist
Suddenly happens upon
A remnant of two people
Still in love but almost not
A cherished piece.

DawnJabout 16 years agoSonnet XVIII - the couplet at the end speaks to the feeling in your poem. Hope you don't mind if I share the lines here: "So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,/So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
