Salty are the oceans
From all of our tears
Humanity has suffered
For too many years

From our desire for fire
To our need for greed
Children are born
To hands that can't feed

Religions of peace
Killed for their prophets
While governments of freedom
Enslaved for the profits

A generation of girls
Being taught not to think
As the cradle of civilization
Tatters on the brink

There are suicide bombers
With the promise of salvation
Over one billion of us
Are ruled by dictation

Far too many sons and daughters
Have shed blood on foreign soil
There's no victory in lose
Only families are left to spoil

So many wonder the streets
Not knowing where they are headed
Men take a vow of poverty
In the holy of holies gold is embedded

Searching though the galaxy
Looking for answers in the stars
Only then I am reminded
The god of war was named Mars

Maybe it's our fate
Destend to live this way
I wonder how we would act
If the red planet were named Frey

Would we have everlasting peace
Insist we share in prosperity
Would war like our amity now
Be only a peculiarly

We are all in this together
One planet we do share
Any storm we shall weather
Love thy neighbor with great care
