Over

You've lied one time too many
and now it's time to move on.
We tried and failed; it's scary
how things take on a life of their own.

I wish we'd been given a real chance
but you killed all hope of that.
We're done with that same old dance;
You've finally met your match.

The power you once had over me
has disappeared with the fading sun.
I don't need your approval you see;
You pulled the trigger to my loaded gun.

I hope you have a happy life
as long as I'm not in it.
You've caused me enough strife;
Dead is the flame you once lit.
