My mind paints a picture of you and I lying in the grass
The sky so clear above us, it could almost be stained glass
The warm summer breeze stirs the flowers at our feet
The two of us alone together, far from any city street
Each of us dazzled by the feelings that we share
As much as by the sunlight which glistens in our hair
Seeing your face framed in gold, makes my heart skip now and then
And just when I think I'm under control, it does it again
We spend the afternoon lost in one another's eyes
That we know each other's thoughts is really no surprise
We seem to be moving ever closer, until we're face to face
You can almost see the nervous energy in the remaining space
I feel myself pulled in toward lips of glistening red
The last sunlight painting rainbows down the path I'm led
My brain ceases to function in memory blotted bliss
Rendered utterly helpless by one simple lasting kiss
