soft and yellowed with age
the paper holds your thoughts
so gently...
as if the knowledge
of your sincerity
was infused into the ink.
each word, a caress
more tender than the first.
this scrap, forgotten in a book
glimmers as you picture her face;
the name escaping memory.
the crush withered
before the lines had faded.
