Partners

Two naked bodies lie as one,
Sound asleep, tired out by raw lust,
Lying together, had their fun,
The joining a ritual must.

Their choice to be celebrated,
A mated pair in everything,
The couple’s love exhibited,
By oath, a collar, or a ring.

Some alike or so different,
Matters not their, race, sex or creed,
Their joining makes them dependent,
Filling an almost primal need.

Newlyweds or living in sin,
This old dance, again and again.

Sorry it's taken so long

To get back online again. But I did it! TG!!! I loved your poem, MS. The best I've read in a long while. Thanks for sharing this with me. And it's so very true.
