Pas de deux

Entrée -

peeking through pixels
watching, reading, considering
It's safer to remain invisible
but oh, the ache
to unfurl, soar, attempt mad pirouettes
before an audience of strangers
so maybe
just a few words

Adagio
words beget words swelling
to agility, advanced turns and arabesque postures
drawing clicks and long searches, thoughtful returns to
lines in a refrain of sensation
matched step for step,
teasing, flirtatious and cloyingly subtle
What is imagined and what is intentional?
patterns, action, reaction
a phrase, a mirrored movement
play of words, repeat images
Is it wishful projection, or are they
Circling one another cautiously
Wondering, wanting like
Snow leopards in cyberspace

Pas Seul - 1
Move to logical consideration:
a fool knows better
stories of aging don Quixotes
charging after ephemeral illusions
Modest, solid, smart, content
have always been sufficient
besides, I have never been a good liar
Yet. The unheard voice, dance of words, haunt
And draw again to the screen
one cannot help
but wish wonder
want

Pas Seul – 2
The pathology seems obvious enough
There are no eyes here with expectations of should, would, must
It is easier to drop hard edges along with caution
But this vulnerability --
have limits been overstepped, too much said
what can even come of this and
what motivates
Please no Bronte types on a damn moor.
Yet. There is dark brooding. Wishes. Wonders.
want

Coda
A surrealist touch:
the power goes out
The audience contemplates this silently
then leaves
And the dancers?
Anyone's guess—but
I hope they smile and go out for coffee

I don't understand...

I have been reading your work, and I can't understand why it is that you don't have a series of red Hs next to your poems!

You just write well!

Very well. You weave through haunted houses, laugh at windmills, and capture the elusive Snow Leopard. Wake up and smell the coffee beans! You shine!! :)

I do not care

if you are a liar or what anyone is wondering. Your poem is simply beautiful and that's all that matters. :-)
