Many people travel around,
while others go on to make friends,
but all of his attempts at love,
have all had sour ends.
It began with a childhood crush,
back when he was shy.
He gathered up courage to ask her out,
but she already had a guy.
Next he tried it with a nice lady
who was my best friend.
She moved before they went out
leaving him with the straw's short end.
Next, he tried it with a lady,
attractive and very nice,
but got so tongue-tied asking her out,
he had to be packed in ice.
He still didn't give up
so he tried it again six times more,
but got six rejections, six broken hearts,
six girls that slammed the door.
I felt sorry for him,
so we packed up all his stuff.
After saying countless good-byes
we went to a bigger city rather rough.
All the ladies seemed to like him,
that much made me glad,
but they all had boyfriends.
He'd felt he'd been had.
What's wrong with him?
Is it his taste in girls?
Is it how he goes up to them?
Is it an obsession with curls?
You know it's ironic
because we have female friends galore
and qualities they want in guys
but alone he is ever more.
I can't say he's desperate
because of his self-respect.
His patience for this is really low
but not his intellect.
I saw the flaws of it all,
so we left the bigger city, rather rough.
We went to my birthplace town,
and traveling, we've had enough.
My luck & attitude are better
so I'll do no more roam,
but he's stuck with
people all around him, yet he's still alone.
I went back to that town
which gave me good fun,
he did most of his traveling for help
and got very little or none.
Every counselor from Florida to Japan
has shed a tear for his situation
but they all gave him useless advice
and a high bill I call exaggeration.
THE STORY BEHIND THIS IS PARTIALLY REAL
AND THE ASPECTS OF IT ARE TRUE
THINK ABOUT THIS & WHAT IT MEANS
BUT THE ONLY ONE THIS MATTERS TO IS YOU.
THIS IS NOT BY AN AUTHOR WHO WROTE THIS
BUT BY A MASKING STATE OF MIND
BY THE TROUBLED ALWAYS WORRISOME SIDE
OF MY FRIEND, WHOM TRUE LOVE HE COULD NOT FIND.
WHAT I MEAN IS THAT YOU MUST
BE THANKFUL THAT YOU'VE GOT
SOMETHING ANOTHER DOESN'T
AND APPRECIATE IT IF YOU HAVE NOT
WE'RE NOT ALL LUCKY IN LOVE
LIKE MY FRIEND I SPOKE ABOUT,
CONSIDER IT FOOD FOR THOUGHT,
AS I LEAVE YOU, OVER AND OUT!
