Click hereOnce, I knew the splendor of a perfect moment.
Everything was wonderfully ideal, the world was just right.
Our daughter blissfully cocooned within the loving embrace of Hypnos,
blissfully happy, we walked along arm-in-arm.
An instant with no worries, no sorrow, no fears, why could it not last?
But, relentless time surges ever forward,
moving inexorably and blindly ahead.
And, people change as the tide of time drags them along and under.
How was I to know that fate chose for me a lonely doom?
We no longer stroll together you and me,
but move in relentless opposition.
I am the river and you are the sea.
Our meetings infrequent, yet turbulent.
Our soft, murmuring, loving voices replaced
with cold silence as black and sharp as an obsidian blade.
Time passes and Kronos teaches me well.
Nothing lasts.
There is no brilliant knight in armor shining, no gallant, thundering steed
to swoop down and rescue this damsel in distress.
And never, no not ever, is there a happily-ever-after.
An excerpt from "A Fool's Book of Wisdom" by Nyasia A. Maire
First, please allow me to assuage reader's concerns ... while this poem is an excerpt from "A Fool's Book of Wisdom," I have the right to publish this work. You see, *I* am the *Fool*.
Second, in response to the anonymous reviewer, I am uncertain whether I should be flattered or hurt by your comment as, in your words, "Shall we call it "found art"? Anyways I could not appreciate this kind of 'humor'." If you believe the poem "found art," I am pleased and thank you for your kind words. However, I am uncertain as to your meaning when you remarked about not appreciating this kind of humor. Perhaps, the cause of your displeasure lies with your misconception over my right to publish this piece.
I guess your comment proves the validity of my claim that this poet truly is just an old *Fool,* I, however, make no claim as to the validity or extent of my wisdom ….
Third, as I could not publish this comment without voting and as the author of the work, I happen to like it, I felt justified in voting a "4." After all, I did not delete my anonymous commentator (I believe everyone has the right to say whatever they wish and I will defend unto the death their right to write whatever tripe they so desire!) and he or she voted "0" that averages out to a "2," which is still not a very good "grade.”
Anyway, I digress ... I welcome all comments, criticisms and conundrums.
Fondest wishes,
--ny

I liked reading it, but you're not supposed to post stuff that isn't your own. I know you didn't plagiarize because you said where it's from, but you are not supposed to post unless it's your work. Just letting you know so you can take it down. :-)
