Picture yourself attendant on a dream
Of verdant parks and fine pavillions, stood
Upon a hill above a rushing stream
That flows from snowy mountains to a wood;
The icy waters are not half as cold
As you, who trembles at a stranger's touch;
He grips you, draws you down; do as you're told:
The current of arousal means you clutch
At hope, as well as fear, of being prey
To one whose footsteps crushed the growing grass,
As he approached and stopped you in a way
That made your heartbeat speed; you could not mask
Mixed emotions at every silent stricture
Anticipating all that you can picture.
