PLOUGHMAN 761004VIC/LAW

By JCSTREET © 2004

Down’s the sun the
cows are lowing home

over the old, brown, broken road

There’s your tea then, sup up
and dream
of ale perhaps, and p’raps a maid and mayhap
old granny at the gate

when onc’t was young

There’s your tankard, ploughman, sup that
then and think
perhaps a morn

when clay breaks roundly on the spade
when no rocks splay the ‘share

There’s your lot ploughman; think
on’t

WOW!

I think Frost would love this one.

You've had 28 years to let it age to perfection

and I think it is well decanted now,

but it deserves a far better glass.

I wonder if Lit. ever realizes the quality of some of its non-erotic submissions.

Another MUST read!
