I find some poetry hard to decifer
and I want to understand,
the poem's true meaning.
So I invented a poetry decoder ring
it works on a series,
of tiny little pings.
Just scan the poem in its intirety
with the rings round end,
let the decifering begin.
I find that even the ring gets confussed
it always seems to say
please begin again.

the fault is not the ring,
but in the poet's convoluted mind
With patent pending the publishers package
with every book of verse on sale
the key to understanding
but all it says is please, again begin
please, again begin, please, again............
Bridget69almost 19 years agowould be a very useful invention although it would somehow take away some of the poem's mystery. Sometimes it's interesting to try and decipher them and they can also hold several different meanings, depending on one's personal perception.
