In some morning, not long ago
as the light slowly broke and with padded footsteps crept
through the skylight

I awoke a moment and an eternity before you
to gaze upon the loveliness of slumber
still deeply clinging to your eyelids,
the rising of sweet breath in your chest
the cheekbones I delight in tracing
with lips and fingertips.
There is not a part of you that is not beloved by me.

Nude and smooth under my gentle palms
you murmur, murmur
and I hear what I want to hear,
dear boy.

A kiss on the nape to tell you what I know.
My body cups you, to contain you in my limbs,
Si je pouvais, a sanctuary,

To keep you safe
In the small span of my embrace.

You arouse within
compassion and lust
you fragile man,
you brave boy.
