Don't tell me not to love you
Don't tell me not to feel
Don't ask me to deny
What we both know is real

I live with the fact
that you have a wife
I live each day knowing
I'll never be in your life

For a few hours a week
We talk like old friends
Each time I dread
When the conversation ends

For I know when you leave
That you sleep in bed with her
Just once in this life
I'd love to be ahead of her

To know what you look like
Before you go to sleep
For you to hold me
When I break down and weep

To kiss your lips
And touch your skin
To look into your eyes
Witnessing your fire within

But alas these are dreams
Never to be fulfilled
Unrealized dreams
Withered and killed

For I know that we
Will never be more
Then what we are now
Sadie and Tenn4

So tonight I will kiss you
and tell you sweet dreams
As I lie all alone
Falling apart at the seams

My tears will wash
Me into dream land
And again the lonely souls
Will take me by the hand

They will tell me again
Sadie, cry tonight
For he will never be yours
Never in this life.
