“Yes, I knew.”
in a parental tone.
The lack of credit
given is degrading.
Revilement begins.
Shining in your eyes
through pseudo
innocence,
trepidation appears.
Traditional lines of
defense are now defunct.
Unforeseen stark exposure
sweeps you frigid;
icicles on my soul.
Truth has been treated
like a monstrosity,
manipulated and
decapitated.
Edit, cut and paste
to fit the moment.
Revamp, reload, rewind.
Reality only mingles
with your nirvana,
She is uncomfortable
there. As are you, now.
Shreds of your integrity,
hot jagged edges, fall
around my feet.
Defeated, you move on
to enkindle chaotic,
deceitful love
in someone else’s life.
