Spring is full of promises,
As is our love, too.
Hope wells up inside us
In everything we do.
With restless stirrings in our souls,
Like sap within the trees,
Our love is like a flower's bud,
Anxious to be free.
When birds return from the south
And their chirping fills the air.
My heart is filled with loving thoughts
For you everywhere.
Our love seems fresh and new
After winter's gloom.
It's like a ray of sunshine
Brightening every room.
Our hearts are filled with promises,
Some of which are kept.
Some were filled with hope,
While over some we wept.
I'm glad with each year's passing
Our love has been renewed.
It's something like the springtime
Or the early morning dew.
When hope and love wells forth
It shows upon our face
Just like springtime's beauty
Has Mother Nature's grace.
I thank God that I have you,
That we have a wondrous love
And just like springtime's beauty
It's blest by God above.
