I stand at the window and stare at the storm!
The clouds have no colour, fast changing their form.
The Lord left the castle at dawn
to some distant place he got drawn

I wait, worried, with impatience and fear
but now thunder, lightning and rain are here.
The master will not return in time for the night.
So I move from the window with a final sigh.

His absence will weaken the shield
to the force of nature, to the storm it will yield
Already the castle's foundation shakes
somewhere glass shatter, then it breaks

Mere fledgling with my growing power
I still rush through the Gatehouse to the tower
Without my Lord to give me guide
still from my duty I cannot hide.

Though soaked in seconds to the core
I raise my hands as I did oft before.
To pull the ancient force from deep
to grant protection for me and the keep

And with all my strength and all my mind
the tears from effort and the rain leave me blind
Hours have passed and the storm's rage is spent
Damage to my home I have somehow prevent.

And while I finally fall to my knees to rest
My Lord's voice floats in: "You passed the test!"
