The sounds of the rain beating against the roof had lulled me to sleep many nights. I had grown to grown to love it as a child. Waiting for it to wash away all the bad in the world, and make each day start fresh and new with bright outlooks.
Now it only reminds me of her. With the long brown hair that used to fall all over me while her weight pressed down upon me. Her hands clamped tight around mine and her cheek resting upon my chest. We use lay there listing and feeling each others hearts beat in time with the rain.
Now she’s gone. No more loving embraces. No more holding each other tightly. All that’s left are the memories, the rain, and my love. I despise the rain now, just because it reminds me I had her and let her slip through my fingers. Please god no more rain.
