Something changed, we were estranged as I walked beyond your life
I walked, let’s not forget, from the field that was our dreams
I honoured and obeyed you, though it cost eternal life
My final letter washed over my screams.

Your eyes locking onto mine is of no interest to the reader,
We’ve all been there, sat in the chair of the erstwhile leader...
You once thought I was the process that never began,
To them I guess they wonder why this writing does not scan.

I write to you a decade late, 10 years beyond the main debate
A fool upon the hill that’s not his own,
We were nothing but a silken moon
That shines so bright yet spreads the doom,
A child from the forsaken womb
Of love pregnant with hate.
