rather daring david
wore legwarmers like a woman.
When it rained,
slid into class in his yellow slicker,
reigned with his artist's hands,
hot with heaven.
Push,
he said. Pull. Stop.
What
he said,
what he meant,
when he said anything was
anyway never nearly enough.
Rather daring david,
compulsively creative, a
credit to Connecticut,
wrote songs in Russian
howled when his hands
refused to stay on the strings.
(his slippery skin, her
incisors on his wrist) and
rather than respond, became
the teacher,
the teaser,
taking his time. The heat
in his hands,
the heartbeat controlled
created and man man
manufactured. Push,
he said.
Pull. Stop.

as far as being written

well, you did a great job. You have "what it takes" to make it writing, but personally, I felt like it was over-edited and sort of sterile.

I would like to see something from you , equally as well-pared but with some emotion attached.

keep writing!

man

I hope the lack of comments is not discouraging to you and that you continue to share your work at Lit as I am selfishly enjoying myself. Come over to the Poet's Forum and join us there! Many people read work in threads there and do not get over to the New Poems (at least that is my story!)

best-

Anna
